Publications

Excited about 2008!  We are, and you will be too with the calendar "Legends of the Sea" by Ellen Million Graphics.  CJ's "Turtle City" will be representing June.  We are very proud to be a part of such a beautiful and high quality publication with so many talented artists.  Get yours today, just click on the calendar title!

Sketchbooks are here and there are only a few left!  They really are a piece of art, hand made with heavy paper, beautiful art never seen before (or again), and unique highlights.  CJ has written throughout about his artistic process.  It's a real treat to hold and to read.  It can all be yours by linking to the Sketchbook page.

CJ has been working with the Mythic Imagination Institute and Imaginal Cells Filmworks to in an effort to produce a documentary. Entitled "The King and the Corpse," it is a traditional Indian tale made multi-cultural and analyzes the human relation to myth.  There are many big names associated with this work and we are certainly honored to work beside them.  Other artists include, Brian and Wendy Froud, Alan Lee, Charles Vess, and a plethora of others.  Three of our newest paintings in the gallery (link) (link) (link)are to be featured in the movie.  There is a third currently on the drafting table.  We have seen our part in the first cut version and it is beyond our wildest dreams awesome.  We are proud to anounce that you can now view the movie trailer!  With all the talent from the artists and producers it certainly proves to be truly awesome.  I will certainly keep you updated on new developments as we go, so keep checking back!

PanGaia Magazine will be useing CJ's illustration skills for the poem Bringing Woden to the Little Green People by C.S. MacCath.  The pen-and-ink drawings CJ produced especially for this poem will only be found in the December Issue #48 "Science and Magic."  As soon as they are advailable off the news stands we'll let everyone know and where to get them.  It should be any day now!

If... Journal (Issue #112) is now advaliable featuring CJ on the cover.  You can link to the website above to see the skillful way they used CJ's art.  Ms. Dreama Baker certainly did a lovely job as always.  You can also use above link to read some sample articals, and to subscribe.

CJ's art has was published in Issue #109 “Meditation” of If… Journal; a subscription e-zine put out by the Listen Media, Inc.  . CJ's article and cover in Samhain, Fall/Samhain 2007 Issue of the Pentacle Magazine out of England is still available. We have also had a wonderful response to " The Great Hunt." It is a beautiful painting and we are very proud to have it representing us on the back cover of the magazine. The article is entitled "Exploring the Mythic Image," and is truley a pleasure to read. It's fun to learn about what makes us human. This is a real "must-have" for the CJ Bloomer fan. If you would like your very own copy ,or want to carry it in your store go to the *link.*

Workshops

CJ taught a workshop, "Fantasy Illustration with Watercolor," at the William King Regional Art Center in Abingdon, Virginia back in July.  It was a great success and we had a lot of fun learning some of the techniques that make CJ's art unique.  You can see some pictures of the class here.

Meet-the-Artist

The meet-the-artist event "The Blank Wall" was a lot of fun.  Amazingly he finished the 8'x24'charcoal drawing in less then 20 hours.  A true proof of CJ's skills.  You can see pictures of the finished wall here, or see the real thing at the William King Regional Arts Center in Abingdon, VA until the 10th of September.

Faery Festival

The festival was a wonderful success; everyone seemed to be having lots of fun and we met such wonderful people.  I'll have pictures up as soon as I can steal some from others.  We were so busy chatting with supporters, I admittedly forgot to take pictures.  Atleast, this stands a testimony to the fun we had.  Have no fear, Micheal Griff has saved the day and allowed me to use his pictures.  Thanks to everyone who stopped and talked with us and took home a little part of CJ's art.  I look forward to seeing everyone next year.
